Family Law Solicitor

Objective

To provide high quality legal advice and assistance for clients of the firm and
contribute to maintaining high standards of client care. To be a team player in the
advocacy team.

Responsible to

  • The Partners
  • Head of Department/Supervisor

Key Tasks

  • Representation of clients in court be performing advocacy.
  • Undertaking new enquiries.
  • For private family law solicitors expectation to meet monthly billing targets, ensure sufficient funds on account, and monitor time recording of cases.
  • Maintain Civil contract compliance and also retain accreditations where applicable such as children law accreditation and advanced family law accreditation.
  • Supervisor compliance where applicable.
  • Receiving and directing telephone calls.
  • Submitting legal aid applications.
  • Ensuring file management in accordance with Quality Procedures Manual, LAA Contract, Lexcel and SQM requirements.
  • Liaising with clients in person and by telephone.
  • Liaising with others by telephone.
  • Compliance with SRA Code of Conduct and SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with Equality and Diversity Policy.
  • Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Law degree or equivalent
  • LPC
  • Police Station Qualification

  • Reliability
