Andrew Brackenbury
Andrew’s focus is always to do the right thing for his clients. This fits in perfectly with the SMQ model as we strive to build our business around happy and loyal clients. Andrew wrote his first will back in 1989 as an additional service to complement financial advice he gave. He took some time away from business in 2016 to focus on research. Thankfully, Andrew is back helping clients to protect their assets, and with his easy-going and friendly approach, he metaphorically holds their hand through the process.

Divya Varghese
In 2021, I completed my Law with Politics degree at Bournemouth University, achieving a 2:1. Eager to make a difference, I decided to dedicate my time as a volunteer adviser at Citizens Advice Bureau.
During my time at Citizens Advice, I played a vital role alongside a dedicated team of volunteers, providing invaluable assistance across a diverse range of areas. From guiding individuals through the intricacies of debt management to offering advice on benefits, facilitating food bank applications, resolving complex housing issues, and addressing employment law concerns. I feel proud to have made an impactful contribution to my local community.
Concurrently, I embraced the opportunity to take on the role as a legal information consultant at a distinguished private healthcare company. This experience exposed me to the nuanced workings of the legal field, allowing me to refine my knowledge and expand my understanding of the industry.
In May 2023, I joined SMQ, as a criminal law paralegal, taking a significant step forward in my legal career. I am excited to further develop my skills and expertise within the profession.

Joe
Joe qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and has very considerable experience in all aspects of family law.
In the early years of practice when it was common to obtain as much experience as possible in all areas before specialising in family law and before the advent of the CPS, his work included police station duty solicitor, and prosecting on behalf of the local police along with, property work, housing, and personal injury work.
Joe’s work is now exclusively in family law from straight forward divorces to the more complex jurisdictional issues, protecting family assets, and include cases where there are substantial assets and large property portfolios. Joe’s approach follows the ethos of Resolution the association for family lawyers which promotes a non-confrontational approach designed to reduce friction between spouses.
Married with 2 grown up children, Joe initially qualified with a firm in Watford and eventually became a full partner in substantial multi office firm operating in Hertfordshire Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
For 3 years Joe and his family lived and worked in Florida operating a property management company for ex-pats and obtained a Florida real estate licence.
Joe spends what little free time he has working on his allotment.
